Meet the Author
My obsession with storytelling began at a very young age. Creative Writing was always my favorite subject, and at just eight years old I was determined to write a book that was one hundred pages long.
I ended up writing a book about a girl and her horse. Believe it or not, it turned out to be exactly one hundred handwritten pages long! I still have it stored in its original (quite stylish!) Lisa Frank folder to this day.
I pride myself on being adaptable and resilient, while still having clear convictions. I have lived all over the country, traveled around the world, and had a variety of different jobs that have turned into a unique skillset - from administrative assistant to horse wrangler, server to registered nurse, and calligrapher to luxury fantasy event planner.
I am Southern California born and raised, but have lived in middle Tennessee since 2014. I met my husband here (an Iowa boy who captured my heart) and we have two beautiful, spunky children who fill my days with joy, laughter, and the very best kind of chaos. Our 12-year-old Border Collie, Shay, is my furry sidekick.
When not writing you can find me riding horses, dancing, reading, eating my husband's (far better than mine) cooking, spending time with friends and family, or dreaming up ways to expand my backyard pollinator garden.
All that being said, I like to believe I've lived an exciting life that allows me to glean from my experiences to create compelling narratives. I love writing books that feature ideas about tough issues, while also focusing on believable characters.
While my list of story ideas includes a wide range of genres, my debut work in progress is a speculative fiction duology. Working ten years in the acute care hospital setting inspired many of the moral and ethical challenges explored in that particular plot.
My goal is to be finished with my current piece by the end of the year and then be ready to query literary agents. I aim to periodically write blog articles to highlight my writing journey and give updates to anyone following along with my newsletter!
